Hansa Meyer Supports Boy Scouts of America

The Boy Scouts of America is one of the nation's largest and most prominent values-based youth development organizations. The BSA provides a program for young people that builds character, trains them in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and develops personal fitness.

Hansa Meyer welcomed over 20 local boy scouts of Pack 55, Den 21 to its Heavy Haul & Rigging operations center. "We wanted to combine an educational activity with some fun for the kids," said Frank Scheibner, President & CEO.  The morning started with a presentation on Construction and Transportation.  The scouts were introduced to various aspects of the planning that goes into large projects and the types of specialized equipment to move large cargo. After a safety briefing, and ensuring everyone had proper PPE, the troop was shown how some of the equipment worked and the importance of safety while operating heavy equipment. The Goldhofer PST-SLE was the most interesting of the day, not because of what it could be like moving in a tight zero radius turn, but because of the cool, wireless controller....
