204' Tank to Texas

Hansa Meyer Heavy Haul & Rigging transported a 636,000 pound GOX tank 1,964 miles from Ohio to Texas. Over the course of nearly a month, the team worked during day moves and while the pictures don't show it, they endured some wicked mid-western winter weather. Our 2 Western Star Prime Movers pushed and pulled a beam/dolly configured trailer that Hansa Meyer custom fabricated in-house. The tank was successfully delivered. Please enjoy the below pictures and GIF.

Major Move Through the South

Originating from Europe, and partnering with Hansa Meyer Germany, the US team received a press unit from the Port of Charleston and transported it over-the-road to the final destination in Alabama. Transportation of the press unit required 12 lines of Hansa Meyer's Dual Lane Goldhofer trailers, complete with 300 ton drop deck and Western Star pull and push trucks. Traveling from South Carolina to Alabama, moving primarily at night through GA and AL, highway patrol was required throughout the duration of the trip. It was quite a move to see. The local news outlets were on-hand asking about the details of the load. Very impressive and very well done by the Hansa Meyer Heavy Haul & Rigging Team.

BOP move across Houston

The Hansa Meyer team successfully transported a 533,000 lbs BOP lower stack across Houston. The BOP was loaded onto a THP-DR Goldhofer trailer, 16 axle lines, and pulled by a Western Star power unit with 2 spreader grillage and 40,000 lbs counterweight. Working with TXDOT to ensure minimal disruption, the transit occurred primarily at night. As well as coordinating the transportation, Hansa Meyer also engineered, designed and fabricated a custom tailing frame in order to lay the BOP down during transportation. In addition to reducing the height during transport, it also helped to distribute weight further out towards the end of the trailer.

The cargo was placed at a low point exactly 9 inches below the leading edge of the trailer, allowing for a 3 inch clearance

Port Crane Transport - Delaware

Hansa Meyer Heavy Haul & Rigging, working with our Hansa Meyer Global office in Germany, received and positioned two port cranes in preparation for assembly at the Port of Wilmington, Delaware. Originating from Poland and Vietnam, each crane was directly offloaded from their respective ship, transported within the port facility and then staged at the designated assembly spot. As with all port activities, safety, timing, and flawless execution is critical. Hansa Meyer's Operators and Project Management collaborated on a detailed transport plan, which was closely followed, leading to a successfully completed job. Hansa Meyer Heavy Haul & Rigging deployed a combination of equipment for the transports including Goldhofer PST SL-E's, an STZ-9 and two TK 90's. Thanks to the entire global team from Hansa Meyer for another outstanding operation.
